Welcome to Memorial Elementary School where students, teachers and parents come together to provide a caring, supportive and comprehensive learning environment.    Memorial School is located at 670 High Mountain Road in North Haledon, NJ 07508.  Our school is a dynamic learning community, housing grades preschool to fourth with a multiple-disabilities class.  Memorial Elementary School has a student population of approximately 400 with a professional staff of 30. 

    Providing an academically challenging setting and culturally rich environment, Memorial School students are exposed to a curriculum of math, language arts, science, social studies, health and safety, character education as well as an introduction to the Spanish language.  Also, students receive special area instruction in physical education, art, music, and computers.  In addition to our core program, we offer a multitude of special programs and extra-curricular activities.  Using an instructional teaching model and approach that fosters an active learning environment, the students of Memorial School work collaboratively in student-centered classrooms. 

   We expect our students to develop cognitively, socially and emotionally.  It is our responsibility to prepare the child for the educational, social, and physical challenges they will face in their middle school years and beyond. 

   At Memorial School, our staff, administration, parents, and children are dedicated to providing a positive, safe and caring community in which each individual can develop to his or her academic, creative, social and emotional potential.  Each child is valued and respected throughout the learning process.  We expect each student to use his or her unique qualities to contribute to the Memorial School community.  We look forward to working with you and your child as we continue to develop and strengthen our educational community.
